Introduction:

Under the dynamic leadership of the Associate Secretaries of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Lacrosse Association (KPLA), Miss. Sana and Mr. Sajid A.D Sports City University, a Women Lacrosse Training Camp was successfully organized at City University of Science & IT, Peshawar. The camp, held on January 13, 2024, aimed to prepare 25 girls for the upcoming 1st Women National Lacrosse Championship scheduled to be held at Kunj Stadium, Abbottabad, from January 20 to 24, 2024.

Participants:

A total of 25 enthusiastic girls participated in the Women Lacrosse Training Camp. The participants were selected from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the inclusive nature of the lacrosse initiative.

Training Venue:

The training camp took place at the City University of Science & IT in Peshawar, providing an excellent venue for lacrosse drills and skill-building exercises.

Training Objectives:

The primary objectives of the Women Lacrosse Training Camp were as follows:

  1. Skill Development: To impart fundamental lacrosse skills, including stick handling, passing, catching, and shooting, essential for effective gameplay.
  2. Team Coordination: Foster teamwork, coordination, and effective communication among the participants to enhance overall team performance.
  3. Gameplay Strategies: Provide insights into offensive and defensive strategies, ensuring that participants are well-versed in tactical aspects of lacrosse.
  4. Fitness and Warm-Up: Incorporate warm-up exercises to prepare the participants physically for the demands of lacrosse and promote overall fitness.

Training Sessions:

The training camp comprised the following key sessions:

  1. Warm-Up Exercises: The camp began with a series of dynamic warm-up exercises aimed at increasing flexibility, agility, and cardiovascular conditioning.
  2. Lacrosse Drills: Participants engaged in a variety of lacrosse drills to develop and refine their skills. These drills focused on stick handling, passing accuracy, and defensive maneuvers.
  3. Technique Learning: Specialized sessions were conducted to teach lacrosse techniques, including positional play, effective use of the lacrosse stick, and strategic decision-making on the field.

Instructors:
